This was our second time staying at Ostan Gweedore but we booked one of the apartments this time. On arrival I have to say we were very impressed with the style and decor of the apartment, but that was nothing compared to the sea view. This is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful locations in the world and we always have a great time when we are here. The beaches and scenery are truly amazing. The hotel, local restaurants and bars all serve great food and are very welcoming. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Overall we had a great time and it was just a pity we couldn't stay longer.

I highly recommend this hotel for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The staff are very friendly and provide great service. The food in any of the two restaurants or the bar is to the highest standard. We particularly love the crab. The bar and restaurant make the most of the beautiful Donegal scenery. The bedrooms would benefit from an upgrade but the views first thing each day compensate for their slightly old fashioned furnishings. We have returned many times always bringing others to enjoy the delights of this special hotel in a wonderful location

Really good. I'd seen some poor reviews on trip advisor and was put off a bit but I felt the stay was really good value. I came to do some writing and get some head space and it certainly provided. The suite could do with a few small modernisations, for example the fire and the table which, I think, would give it an up to date feel. Also the lamps are wonky or broken - just small touches to be honest. The restaurant and service were both magnificent and despite being alone I felt looked after and then food was of the highest quality.

the Hotel is in a great location with an amazing view and is in the heart of the Gaelic cultural hub of Ireland. I booked the Valentine's Special break as a surprise for my boyfriend as I recently started work again after a period of unemployment and thought we deserved a treat. It was 240 euro for 2 nights for 2 people including 2 breakfasts and a four course gourmet meal in the high class restaurant. I thought that was very reasonable indeed. I was slightly nervous when booking as I didnt know if Donegal would be ready for a gay couple on a Valentine's Break. Well my fears were unfounded. The owner Hugh couldnt have been nicer. The staff treated us the same as any other couple at the dinner, complete with chocolate covered strawberries and complimentary champagne flutes. I must make a special mention to the waiter Harold who was very helpful and friendly indeed. The extra touches are what makes this hotel so special. The chambermaid Maire personally phoned one of her friends for us when we asked how much the Tory Island Ferry would cost. The staff were happy to recommend local pubs and call us a taxi. The Spa downstairs isn't the most luxurious in the world but the pool was warm and clean and the steam room opened up those pores as well as any other one!!! Anyone we met on our weekend her both in the hotel and in the surrounding pubs were perfectly friendly and welcoming and not once did I feel uncomfortable as a result of my sexuality. (Apart from one or two bemused looks from guests in the restaurant from old men...but then again it is the Republic of Ireland like and they were probably just jealous cause we were young and good looking lol) I would most defintely recommend this hotel. It's in a great location with great staff and if you get a special deal then definitely take advantage of it. Enjoy!!!

Superb hotel right on the beach. Gorgeous view across the bay from our room which was breathtaking... Staff were friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Ate there on both nights of our stay and the food was delightful - as too was the tasty irish breakfast! This hotel doesn't get the credit it deserves - will definitely be back!
